I think I can answer this one...


ESPN sold X games to Raycom and Raycom sold Y of that inventory to Fox Sports (all deals through 2027 IIRC). those rights are all TV only (no IP). ESPN often streams Raycom games via ESPN3 in markets without a Raycom syndication deal in place. IIRC, they may actually stream head to head with Fox sports TV broadcasts.

therefore, ESPN can easily just create what amounts to a 2nd ESPN3 with nothing but ACC content quickly and easily (ACCN+).

as for 2019 (TV channel), they will either need to buy back rights from Raycom and FSS, or get creative with how they partner with them, I guess time will tell.
